Wendy Ballard

Admissions Specialist

My husband Dave worked at West Ridge Academy before I did, he started the athletic program here. On the weekends he would bring home several of the boys that he coached and I as I got to know them I enjoyed having them in our home. It was so rewarding to see the changes that they were able to make in their lives and feeling like we were making a difference. I soon wanted to be a part of this wonderful program. Over the past 16 years we’ve had over 70 boys live with us in our home on “Day Program”.

I first started working in the school as the registrar in 2000, I’ve coached the girls volleyball team for 6 years and am currently in Admissions now. I love the work we do here, and feel it a privilege to work with the families we do during such a critical time of their lives.

I have 5 wonderful children and 6 grandchildren who I love to spend time with and bring me so much joy. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom while my kids were growing up. When I was young I grew up playing volleyball and softball every summer and received  scholarships to play in college. I now compete in the Sr. Games each year and plan to do it while I still can. Besides spending time with my family and friends, I enjoy going to the movies, reading a good book, and keeping busy with projects
